I love his "look", I just think he's so handsome. And I'm disturbed to realize, in that pic you posted he looks very much like my dad - eeeek!

Oh, well. Talented and intelligent, nice to look at. He blows my skirt up. :o

I discovered King is originally from Boston, is 42, divorced with 2 kids, and is about 6' tall. (I found a pic of him interviewing Jeb Bush and looked at another pic of 6' tall GW next to Jeb and made an educated guess). He got his first job at Associated Press as a writer. In 1991, he was named chief political correspondent and headed the AP's political coverage of the 1992 and 1996 presidential elections. He joined CNN in 1997.

I also found that from reading insider type media sites he's highly respected. When he got restless covering Bush and made comments about it CNN basically gave him whatever he wanted. That big shakeup where the Congressional/WH reporters were shuffled, I think came about from King's promotion. ABC was trying to lure him away at that time as well.

One site, DC Fishbowl http://www.mediabistro.com/fishbowldc/ (treasure trove of info, btw) wrote several articles calling him an 'uberjournalist', about how being given the chief national correspondent position he's now a 'roving reporter' who gets to go wherever the hot story is . . . and speaking of hot, he's also made several of Fishbowl's hottest male journalist lists.

For anyone who's into him, this is the fruits of my research.

That's great information. I didn't know most of that about John. I knew he was a good reporter but it sounds like he's so respected he can work at whichever network he wants.

Sounds like you need to be the messageboard's reporter. You get the scoop on the reporters. :-)

I wonder why this thread died down :(. I wonder where John's been. I remember hearing that he was on TSR, but I watched TSR for the past 2 days and no John :(.

Hey Sabrina and thank you :). Yes, he is very amazing. I wish he was a permanent anchor or had his own show like John Roberts or something.

Yeah it would. Until then, I wish he'd be a permanent sub for AC360, TSR and Paula Zahn lol. That would be awesome.
